The Evolution of the agile organisation

Our campaign reinforced PA’s market leadership in agile, positioning the organisation as a leading innovation and transformation consultancy for the C-suite.

Overview

Organisational agility is an extensively debated topic on the boardroom agenda, with leaders challenged by the accelerating pace of change in the business environment. Man Bites Dog was tasked with reinforcing PA’s market leadership in agile, positioning the organisation as a leading innovation and transformation consultancy for the C-suite.

The campaign needed to take a fresh approach to organisational agility and move the debate on with new ideas and perspectives. Man Bites Dog designed opinion research that analysed 15 agile characteristics across five dimensions: centre on your customer; speed up time to value; design for simplicity; build to evolve; and liberate your people. This research identified a strong positive correlation between these agile characteristics and financial performance.

Our research found that the top 10 percent of businesses by financial performance are almost 30 percent more likely to display agile characteristics. Business leaders also predicted that one in six businesses would fail by 2023 because they can’t keep pace with change. This allowed PA to champion the idea that organisations that display agile characteristics are more likely to outperform their peers.

Our integrated marketing communications programme has become the central pillar of PA’s innovation hub and messaging online. It proved the very real need for organisations to embrace agile processes, highlighting the level of pressure coming from external forces such as customers and competitors. It also set out PA’s vision of a new kind of organisation, offering practical insights and knowledge to get companies thinking about their own needs and how they may embrace their own agile journey.
