Man Bites Dog acts as both Controller and Processor of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) as defined in GDPR 25th May 2018.
We respect your right to privacy and will only process PII in accordance with GDPR and the Data Protection Act 1998. We reserve the right to change the manner in which data is collected or processed within these frameworks. Details of any changes to the way data is collected or processed will be outlined on this page.
Non-PII data collection and storage, including ‘cookies’
Cookies are small data files stored on your personal electronic device that are created when you visit a website.
Our website does not require cookies to operate, however uses Google cookies to improve the user experience and market our services. Cookie data is anonymous and stores information such as IP address and browser information, but do not contain PII.
PII data collection
Data is collected using automated Sharpspring tracking embedded on our website and via ‘forms’ on our website which are proactively completed by users. The data collected may relate to your email address, physical address, name, and the company you work for.
PII data storage
Man Bites Dog access data from secure servers in the UK. Sharpspring servers are located outside the EU, primarily in the US, and can only be accessed by Sharpspring and their subsidiaries in an encrypted format.
PII type and usage
PII stored in SharpSpring is processed in order to manage incoming enquiries, market our services, and improve our services.
Man Bites Dog does not collect data unrelated to its needs, for example age, gender, or personal interests. We do not collect high-risk data such as bank details.
Man Bites Dog does not use data for any other purpose for example the building of profiles.
Man Bites Dog does not and will not share, sell or distribute data publically or with any third party.

Legal base for processing PII
Man Bites Dog will process PII, only in the following instances;
- To provide services outlined in contracts, or notifications of intention to form contracts
- To send marketing communications where the individual is opted in to the specific channel, and the communication is relevant to the individual
- To fulfill other contractual obligations, including billing
- To otherwise fulfill privacy requirements and data protection regulation and legislation
- Where necessary for pursuing a legitimate interest
Man Bites Dog will not seek to retain information where it does not have a legal basis or legitimate interest in doing so.
Individuals have the right of access, alteration and erasure of PII. If you wish to understand the nature of the data we hold, amend the data, or delete it entirely, please contact us by the method below. We will ask you to verify your identity as part of this process.

Data breaches and unauthorised access
Man Bites Dog is committed to minimising the ability of persons externally and internally accessing the data for malicious or otherwise unauthorised purposes.

This policy outlines Man Bites Dog’s position on modern slavery and human trafficking.
We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business. This policy reflects our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls which address the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking.
As part of our efforts to identify and mitigate the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking, we shall:
- Look to build long term relationships with our suppliers and clearly highlight to them our expectations of business behaviour;
- Look to contract with a UK company or branch whenever possible and ensure that these entities have suitable anti-slavery and human trafficking policies and procedures in place;
