Gary Haines

As Man Bites Dog’s Finance Director, Gary is responsible for the overall financial management of the business and for ensuring the consultancy is meeting its long-term commercial goals. He leads the finance team and supports the wider business in developing commercial skills, future-proofing processes and driving operational effectiveness. His primary goal is to build a finance function that not only supports the consultancy’s business objectives but plays a proactive role in unlocking new opportunities – through smarter processes, scalable systems, investment in innovation and sharper financial insight.

By ensuring strong financial management and future-ready processes, Gary helps create the confidence and scalability that underpin exceptional client service. His work enables our teams to focus on delivering innovative, high-quality consultancy, safe in the knowledge that the business is sustainable, resilient, well-managed, and built to support long-term client partnerships.

As a Chartered Accountant, Gary has over 20 years of financial and commercial experience across consultancies, professional services and higher education. Prior to joining Man Bites Dog, he led the finance function of a London-based digital agency through its growth, sale and flotation on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM), whilst also successfully merging the financial operations of three agencies into one.

Gary is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Geography with IT from the University of Chester.
