Claire Mason

Founder & CEO

Claire is an entrepreneur, NED, and Founder & CEO of Man Bites Dog, the Growth Department for Intelligent Brands. She established Man Bites Dog in 2005 as the world’s first specialist thought leadership consultancy. Today, the firm partners with professional and financial services, technology, and energy, engineering and infrastructure leaders to turn their intelligence advantage into revenue growth with signature programmes spanning brand positioning, flagship thought leadership, sales enablement and ABM. Their work is powered by proprietary IP, including the Thought Makers process, Intelligent Brands methodology, Data & Insights Lab and Creative Content & Design Studio.

Claire has led global B2B strategic marketing and thought leadership campaigns on topics ranging from AI, robotics and the future of work to The Sustainable Cities Index and Zeronomics, the economics of the net‑zero transition. A recognised pioneer of strategic thought leadership, she works closely with CEOs and C‑Suite leaders to develop Intelligent Brand strategies and big ideas that accelerate change, unlock high‑stakes B2B buying decisions and position organisations as leaders in the Next Economy.

An established media commentator, keynote speaker, conference and panel chair, Claire is an active champion of strategic marketing, sustainability, global trade and the knowledge economy. She has chaired conferences at the House of Lords and London Stock Exchange and delivered keynotes for organisations including The Conference Board, City of London Corporation, EY, PwC, techUK, Winmark, The Lawyer, Estates Gazette and the BBC.

Winner of B2B Marketing’s Specialist Consultancy of the Year, Man Bites Dog has won more than 110 global awards. Claire has been awarded the Chartered Institute of Marketing’s Female Marketing Leader of the Year, recognised as an EY Winning Women Entrepreneur, and included in leadership power lists from Management Today, Growing Business and PRWeek. Claire is campaigning to close the Gender Say Gap – a term she coined to address the underrepresentation of women and minorities in business and in public life – by increasing the visibility of thought-leading diverse experts.

With a passion for entrepreneurship and sustainable development, Claire has held non‑executive and board roles with organisations including Coast to Capital Local Enterprise Partnership, the GB Economic Board and the Managing Partners’ Forum, and serves as Entrepreneur in Residence at The British Library Business & IP Centre.

She holds an MA in English Language and Literature from the University of Oxford, a research MA with distinction from the University of York, and a distinction in Business Sustainability Management from Cambridge University (CISL).
