As Account Director/ PR Specialist at Man Bites Dog, your responsibilities will include: 

  • Drive, energise and grow the Man Bites Dog PR (media relations, corporate comms and internal comms) business – this will include retained PR and media relations for thought leadership campaigns.
  • Lead and generate pitch opportunities and lead sections of combined pitches with Divisional Directors' overview and support. 
  • Lead on setting client communications strategy, driving exceptional results and ensuring quality across all retained accounts and project media launches, across a range of B2B sectors.
  • Identify opportunities for organic growth across your whole portfolio and proactively cross-sell and seek wider connections to deepen the footprint of Man Bites Dog.
  • Support and actively contribute to MBD new business development (Including outreach, case studies and creds) for a key sector or subsector, and / or a key theme or sub-theme.  
  • Responsible for building the PR and media relations team, working closely with the Man Bites Dog management team, and developing their skills and processes.
  • Provide senior strategic advice to the client teams for all media-related activation work for thought leadership campaigns.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on crisis communications, internal communications, media training and stakeholder management.  
  • Understand, evaluate, and deploy appropriate media platforms for campaign measurement and monitoring across channels.
  • Ad-hoc: Pitching in and supporting your pack with ad-hoc work as required.

The key qualities we’re looking for in our new recruits: 

  • A PR expert with an excellent knowledge of the global news agenda and strong media & influencer relations skills in B2B.
  • An industry and sector expert – solid understanding of business audiences that our clients target, from SMEs to global corporates.
  • An outstanding communicator – written and verbal.
  • An exceptional consultant able to maintain and grow client relationships.
  • A creative genius that can craft a compelling story, generate and evidence big ideas.
  • A top-notch project manager able to work to objectives, targets, deadlines and deliver results.
  • An excellent track record in winning new business – able to grow existing clients and identify and win new ones.
  • An inspiring leader who loves helping their team and clients reach their full potential.
  • Strong commercial acumen – first-rate financial planning and reporting with the ability to set and work to budget and monitor profitability.

We work on leading research and economic analysis to put substance behind our campaigns, so any examples of this type of experience would be great too. 

We’re looking for someone with the right blend of strategic thinking and hands-on delivery, who can drive business development and can work in a fast-moving consultancy environment. The right candidate will have great working relationships and clients and needs to be excellent with client and commercial management.
