WeConnect (Women in Enterprise Connecting to Contracts), a new government backed initiative aimed at connecting women owned businesses with multinational corporations, has appointed Man Bites Dog to handle communications for WEConnect and its first annual £Get Connected’ conference.

Sue Lawton, Director of Development for WEConnect said: “An increasing number of women are turning to entrepreneurship as a way to fulfill their ambitions and create a new kind of workplace. However, many female entrepreneurs break out on their own only to face huge challenges in gaining fair access to procurement contracts.”

Claire Mason, MD of Man Bites Dog said: “WeConnect levels the procurement playing field by providing female entrepreneurs with the opportunity to access contracts with major corporates. The glass ceiling is often talked about in the corporate world, but in the case of female entrepreneurs bidding for major contract opportunities, the issue is often a closed door. Man Bites Dog is honoured to be helping WeConnect open that door.”
